Dear Parents and Carers,
During this time of COVID-19 uncertainty, we continue to follow safe and hygienic practices at St Thomas More’s. Catholic Education remain in close communication with government health authorities and communicate with their schools regularly. We have been reminded to ensure our school is following the guidelines set out by ACT Health. Thank you for remembering to register using the Check in CBR app when entering our school grounds. Students are being reminded to clean and sanitise their hands after every break, and we are wiping down surfaces at the end of each day. If your child is unwell, please do not send them to school. Evidence of a negative COVID test is not required to be presented in the ACT after an absence from school due to flu-like symptoms. I know some of you prefer to err on the side of caution and will do so, but it’s a parent decision. I will keep you updated should this change in the coming weeks.
Grandparent’s Day - Centred in Faith Gathering
We look forward to meeting our grandparents this Friday morning (July 23). Our liturgy will start at 9am, followed by a visit to the classrooms. We are unable to provide morning tea due to the restrictions placed on schools at the moment. Visitors will be required to check in through the Check in CBR app. Our Yr. 5/6 students will be presenting the liturgy on Friday.

Introducing our School Chaplain
Hello everyone! My name’s Ariana Strmota and I am the St Thomas More’s School Chaplain.
A little about me… I have spent the last 6 years working in youth ministry and youth work including 2 years in the UK. I have a passion for social justice and listening to people and their stories. I love to sing and explore the outdoors.
My role as Chaplain is all about supporting the students and their wellbeing and encouraging them to look out for others. I will be available for a chat, assist in classrooms and run various activities to support the students. The school already has so many wonderful programs which I cannot wait to dive into including Mini Vinnies and the Called To Care Meal Bank. I will also be assisting Anh Tran, the Youth Minister, in building up the next generation of young leaders.
For the moment I will be in every Friday from 8am-3:30pm. Feel free to contact me via email (ariana.strmota@cg.catholic.edu.au) if you have any questions or just want to check in.
I cannot wait to get to know everyone and thank you for welcoming me into this wonderful school community!
Faithfully,
Ariana Strmota.
