Wow! Isn't it amazing to think that we are now halfway through the year? We have had such a wonderful term of learning and growing at St Thomas More's starting with the students returning to a new normal with teachers removing masks and cohorting being reduced. I still remember a student exclaiming in Week 2 "Mr Donnelly, you grew a beard!", it was then that I realised the community hadn't really seen how often I was smiling as I experienced life at St Thomas More's.
There were so many important events this term including ANZAC Day, Mother's Day, Open Day, Reconciliation Week, NAPLAN, Enrolment Interviews, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals, Rostrum, First Holy Communion, Parent Teacher Interviews and our Feast Day last week. We are all well and truly ready for a break before the excitement of Term Three begins. Thank you to all of our families for journeying with us this semester.
Class Contacts and Events Calendar
We will be sending out information early next term to ensure our Class Contacts for each class are able to access contact details for parents who are interested. We would invite you to take the time to look over the school calendar on the school website or compass app as it now includes all of our events for the remainder of the year. Year 2 will be the first class to host an event with the Disco in Week 4 next term!
Pupil Free Days
Our New Mural
Have you had a chance to see our new mural completed by Bohie and the school community? It truly is an authentic representation of Bohie's art combined with student voice. The artwork is going to be a constant reminder of all those members of our community who are here and who have moved on. Each new family to the school will be invited to add more fingerprints to the artwork so that everyone is able to leave their mark. Don't worry if you haven't contributed to the wall yet as we will provide plenty of opportunities at upcoming school events.

Catholic Education Tasmania Visit
On Monday morning we had 10 delegates from Catholic Education Tasmania, 4 delegates from Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn and Director Ross Fox visit to view the High Impact Teaching Practices taking place in all classrooms at St Thomas More's. The visit was evidence of the high-quality teaching and learning taking place at the school and an opportunity for our staff to shine. I know I speak for the parent body when I say that we are so proud of the staff for being recognised in this way.
Luke Donnelly

Pyjama Day - Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal
Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal
What a wonderful day we have had for the last day of our winter appeal!
Everyone came to school dressed in their warm pyjamas and helped us to raise $277.50.
The Mini Vinnies team spent lunchtime sorting through all the wonderful donations of winter warmers, filling up many large bags. These goods will go towards those who really need it this winter.
A big thank you to all who have donated and for your constant generosity and support of our Mini Vinnies Team.
