At our All Souls Day Mass today Fr Emil invited the students to participate in two things. One was to light a candle to represent all those people in our lives that we can pray for and offer support. The other was to engage in some thought on who the Mr Percival's are in our lives. Mr Percival is the pelican in the famous Australian novel Storm Boy, by Colin Thiele, who when presented with the opportunity to fly away with his siblings, Mr Proud and Mr Ponder, decided he wanted to stay where he was. Mr Percival wasn't ready to move onto his next chapter with the other pelicans and preferred the safety of Mike, the boy who had reared him. Upon telling the students about Mr Percival, Fr Emil explained that some people move into the kingdom of heaven with ease, like Mr Proud and Mr Ponder, where others, like Mr Percival, need the support and prayers of those around them to fully embrace their next journey. This is the reason for the celebration of All Souls Day.
So, this evening we would love all of our families to ask their child about who the Mr Percival's are in our lives and how we can support them?

Kinder Nativity and End of Year Picnic - RSVP
At last week's Community Council Meeting the council discussed the Kinder Nativity and End of Year Picnic and if this event would be difficult for families to attend given the many end of year functions that are often held on Friday's during lunchtime in December. We are hoping to gauge interest in this event to ascertain if it is an appropriate event for place on our calendar in the coming years or if it places unnecessary pressure on parents during this busy time of year. Please complete the RSVP below f you are planning to attend the Kinder Nativity and/or End of Year Picnic.

Class Placements 2023
We would like to remind our families from Years 2-5 that our staff will commence the process of class placements for 2023 soon. Students will be asked to nominate 5 friends that they would like in their class with at least one of these friends being placed in their class. We believe that every teacher at our school is able to teach any child at our school and will therefore not accept requests for specific teachers. If there is information regarding your child and their class placement that you feel the school is not already aware of and would like considered, please email it to me and I will follow up with a conversation or book a meeting. Requests from previous years will not be taken into consideration. We would ask that any requests are received by the end of next week.
Colour Run
We will be launching our Colour Run this Friday with sponsor booklets and information on the first prizes being sent home to families. If there are any last-minute sponsors out there, please don't hesitate to get in contact.

Mini-Vinnies - Christmas Hampers
Christmas time is nearly here! This means that there will be people in our community who will require our assistance. This week marks the beginning of our annual collection of food items for the St Vincent De Paul Society Christmas Hampers.
These items will be presented to the St Vincent De Paul Society Volunteers at the end of term. I would encourage everyone use this opportunity to contribute as much as they can to help others who are less fortunate.
Each classroom has a basket for their allocated items to be collected.
Please bring all donations in by Monday 5th December.
If you have any questions, please send me an email.
