Mother's Day and Cross Country Carnival
We look forward to celebrating our Mum's on Friday morning with breakfast served from 8:15 - 8:45am. At 8:50am we will hold the prize draw of our raffle and hand out affirmations for the first two weeks of term. We will then move to the oval for our Cross Country Carnival. Thank you to Kath and Madelaine in 3/4G and Year 1 for coordinating the Mother's Day Breakfast, to our Kinder and Year 1 teachers for running the Cross Country carnival and to the many other families who will volunteer their time for these events. It is sure to be a wonderful morning.
Schools Upgrade Fund
Last week we received a call from Alicia Payne, Federal Member for Canberra, to notify us that the school was successful in receiving a Schools Upgrade Fund for 2023. Our school will receive $17,114 to go towards the shading of our outdoor classroom and sandpit and for the shade above the playground equipment to be replaced. We appreciate the support of the Australian Government in upgrading our school facilities.
School Canteen
On Friday our school canteen was open for the first time in many years. The students were so excited to make their purchases and the staff commented on how respectful they were in lining up and using their manners whilst making purchases. A big thank you to Angela Kelley who has taken on coordination of the canteen at short notice.
The canteen will be an evolving initiative within the school and at this stage is only able to sell prepackaged items. We have received feedback from community members regarding the initial menu and will be making changes to ensure we are promoting healthy eating within our community. We would ask that you email us if you have any concerns regarding the canteen menu or would like to suggest healthy, prepackaged, menu items.
