Tell Them From Me Survey
We have had 25% of our families complete the Tell Them From Me Survey. We would like for all families to take the opportunity to give us feedback for growth across the school and have your say on agendas in home learning, canteen, fundraising targets and school events. The survey window has been extended and will now close next Friday.
The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You can access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device here:

Finance Transformation
We have now moved to our new finance system which means that Compass will be the source of all financial information for families and our bank account is no longer active. Families will receive a statement tomorrow with your new biller codes for paying fees. We would strongly encourage families to use Bpay, rather than making payments through Compass, as Compass payments incur transaction fees that reduce funds to the school. Catholic Education has provided the following letter to support families with our new system:
NAIDOC Week Grant
We are so pleased to have been successful in securing a $2000 NAIDOC Week Grant through the National Indigenous Australians Agency. This will support all our students to learn more about Indigenous culture through our NAIDOC Week activities with Aaron Chatfield from Dreamtime Connections. With this grant, Aaron will also be working with the Gang Gang Gang to help them learn about traditional plant uses in preparation for creating our Bush Tucker Garden. We are very grateful to the National Indigenous Australians Agency for supporting us in these endeavours.
Disco
We look forward to the Disco tomorrow evening from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Thank you to TeamKids, Paris Dounoukos and our 3/4White families for their coordination of the event. Thanks also to Woolworths Majura for sponsoring our treat bags!
Parent Teacher Interviews
Bookings for parent teacher interviews have now opened on Compass. The interviews will be an opportunity to discuss your child's progress with their teacher before Semester One reports are published. We would encourage all families to book an interview, particularly as Semester One reports will not include a general comment.

St Thomas More’s Feast Day
St Thomas More’s Feast Day is the 22nd of June. This year we will celebrate the occasion on Wednesday the 21st of June due to other commitments that Father Emil has on the Feast Day. We will begin the morning of Wednesday the 21st of June with a coffee van providing FREE COFFEE by TeamKids for parents and caregivers before we attend a Whole School Mass at 9:30am. During the Mass Father Emil will remind us about how St Thomas More demonstrated the values of wisdom, courage and peace throughout his life. Please join us for the Mass if you are able to, during our middle session we will participate in a number of multi age rotational activities. We will then share a special pizza lunch, those children with dietary needs will be catered for.
Centred In Faith Gatherings
Thank you to Miss Tozer and the Gang Gang Gang who shared with us the importance of Reconciliation last Friday at our Centred in Faith Gathering. Mrs Washington, Mrs Tarleton, 3/4G and 5/6G will run our next Centred in Faith Gathering on Friday the 9th of June at 8:45am. At the Gathering, they will remind us about the life of St Thomas More in preparation for our Feast Day celebrations on the 21st of June.
Parish Mass
3/4G will attend our Parish Mass on Friday 9th June at 10:00am. Family members of students in these classes are welcome to attend.
Sacrament of First Holy Communion
We continue to pray for those children who are preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. The Celebration of the Sacrament will take place at the 9:30 am Mass on Sunday 18th of June. A retreat day will be held at school on Wednesday 14th of June for the candidates.

We would like to congratulate Katherine Holmes on her selection in the ACT swimming team to compete in the National Championships in Sydney in August. Katherine will represent the ACT in the 50m and 100m backstroke and 3 different relay events. We are incredibly proud of Katherine.
We are mid way through our book fair. We are open today at 3:00-3:30pm and tomorrow 8:20-9:00am and finally at 3:00-3:30pm. You have probably heard the whispers in the car park and on the playground about the quality of the books and literature at the book fair. There are novels for junior and senior readers, picture books, board books and fabulous non-fiction. Even one of our Dads found a book to read. If there is something in particular that your child is looking for and it's not there, let me know and Peter at The Book Cow is happy to place a special order for you and will deliver it to school.
Thank you for supporting our book fair.
Nicole Mikkonen.
Defence Mentor
Thank you for a wonderful Term 2. I am on leave for the last two weeks of Term so wishing all our families a wonderful mid semester break. Today will be our last Defence Club of the term and we will celebrate World Ocean and Environment days which happen this week with some fun colouring in activities. Last week our beading session was a great success and students from all year groups enjoyed making various designed friendship bracelets. I will return Term 3 and look forward to another enjoyable Term.
