Community Council 2024
This year Catholic Education has reviewed the charter for the running of Community Councils. Following a time of consultation, a new School Community Council Charter has been approved and will be implemented in 2024. The main changes to the charter involve defining the council as an advisory board, streamlining financial processes and increases the engagement of working groups within the school.
At St Thomas More's we will be implementing a working group comprised of our Class Contacts who will meet with the Community Council Executive 3 times per year to ensure we are continuing to pursue our goal of engaged partnerships within our community. These meetings will be open to all members of our community.
The Community Council Executive will comprise a Council Chair and Secretary with up to 4 additional parents, including one Kindergarten Representative. The Council Executive will meet 4 times per year.
We are currently looking for interested parents to join our Community Council Executive or take on the role of Class Contact in 2024. If you are interested in either of these opportunities please feel free to reach out to myself or email our Community Council at stm.communitycouncil@cg.catholic.edu.au.
Christmas Eve Mass
Are there any talented musicians or singers in our community who would like to join a choir on Christmas Eve? A few weeks back, we called for families who were interested in participating in the Christmas Eve Mass to be held in our school courtyard. If there are any adults or children who can support this, please complete the google form here.
Principal Staffing Announcement
We are pleased to attach the announcement below appointing Nicole Mikkonen to the role of Acting Principal at St Thomas More's in Terms 2 and 3 of 2024. I will be taking this time as leave to travel around Australia with my family in our caravan. I have every confidence that Nicole will excel in leading our community during this time and continuing the teaching and learning excellence that exists at St Thomas More's.
