Welcome to our first More Reminders for 2025. As stated in our More News last week, the More Reminders newsletters have been reviewed to align with their intended purpose of brief reminders for the week ahead. Therefore they will be short in nature, using dot points, and all condensed into the Principal's Section.
Here are our reminders for the week ahead:
- Parent/Carer Contact List - We would ask all families to complete the Parent/Carer Contact List for your class if you were not in attendance at our PIN or unable to complete the form on the evening.
- Swimming Carnival - Event permissions are now in Compass. There is a 'registration form' for all Year 2-6 students to complete by 19/2. Year 1 and non-competitive Year 2 swimmers will complete novelty events and return to school at 12:00pm. Kinder will not attend the event as it a scheduled rest day.
- Carpark Safety - Safety in our carpark is of the utmost importance. The speed limit is 10km per hour, children should move through the carpark with an adult and care should be taken when entering the carpark and reversing.
- Working Bee - Save the Date - Saturday 15 March 9:00am-11:00am.
- DSM Email - We would ask all of our defence families to respond to the email from Bibi Peresin to defence families. This will support her in supporting our community.
- PIN Information Session - The Whole School PIN presentation is attached for families. There is still time to complete the Growing in Courage survey from Mrs McPadden.

Kindergarten have been doing some fantastic work in the last week. We have started our InitiaLit lessons, participated in daily reviews and we are enjoying our Italian lessons and songs with Miss Shanahan and her guitar. We are proud of ourselves and the progress we have shown with our school routines such as lining up and making circles quickly to be ready for learning. What an amazing start to the year!!
Hello! My name is Biljana Peresin, and I am excited to be joining the St Thomas More’s community as the Defence School Mentor.
I have spent 26 years of my career as a Defence Civilian, mostly in Navy and then Tri-Service Operational roles, I am also married to a former member of the Royal Australian Navy. I have two grown sons, who both attended St Thomas More’s and two furbabies. I understand firsthand the challenges we can face being part of such a unique community.
I will run a Defence Club from 1300-1330 every Monday to connect with your children. It is voluntary and I encourage them to attend. You can contact me at DSM.campbell@cg.catholic.edu.au at any time with questions or things I should know about.
At St Thomas More's Primary approximately 40% of our children come from defence families so be assured that all staff are familiar with the challenges that defence families may face. We all work to create a secure environment where all children can think more to grow in wisdom, encourage more to grow in courage, and respect more to grow in peace. Please feel free to reach out at any time, we’re here as a school community to support you. I look forward to getting to know you and your children in 2025.
