Working Bee - Parish and School
Thank you to those families who are available to attend the Working Bee this Saturday. Our plan is to focus on the gardens at the top carpark and the memorial garden in front of the Church. We will complete weeding, review any large branches to remove and then focus on mulching the entire area from the library courtyard gate up to the carpark. If there are eager weeders we will also tackle some of the front garden beds. Angela will be in contact with families to confirm if trailers for green waste and pressure washers are needed. We look forward to seeing you all at 9:00am on Saturday morning.
Grandparents Day
We look forward to celebrating Grandparents Day next Friday. This year our Grandparents Day has been moved to 11:30am to reduce traffic congestion at the beginning of the day and allow the grandparents to share a picnic lunch with their grandchildren. We would like to remind you to reconsider bring foods with nuts, dairy and eggs due to allergies.
Here is the timetable for the day:
11:30am - Grandparents Gather in Holy Faith Hall for Centered in Faith hosted by Kindergarten at11:40am
12:00pm - Harmony Day and Grandparents activities in Classrooms
1:00pm - Picnic lunch in Courtyard
Message from our Events Working Party Coordinator
Hello STM families,
It's great to be involved with the school events this year and I hope I can assist and encourage our STM community to get together and make our events for 2025 as exciting as possible and fun filled for the children.
You'll see me pop up in your class chats and I'll work with the class contact to organise the event allocated to your year groups.
Our main events for the year are:
Mother's day breakfast and raffle - Year 1
Father's day breakfast and raffle - Kindy and Year 2
Disco with parent social - Year 3/4 Green and White
Dance display with parent social - Year 5/6 Green and White

Netball - more players needed!
Calling all 9 and 10 year old boys and girls who want to play netball!
'Net Stars' Needs You!
Is your child interested in playing beginners netball in the Inner North Netball Club Saturday morning competition, at Lyneham? We are starting up a team for 9 and 10 year old boys and girls - the 'Net Stars'!
Competition Dates: 3rd May to 20 September 2025
(possible grading dates include March 29th and April 5th, 2025)
Anticipated Cost: $180 per player to register, and additional $20 for uniform shirt.
Training: Will be held before each game on a Saturday morning, at the Lyneham Courts.

This team will not be affiliated with STM but we are hoping to have enough interest to be able to create a team with school friends only!

Year 2 Update
Year 2 have had a fantastic start to the year!
In Literacy, we have been expanding our vocabulary and learning Tricky Words. We have also explored Imaginative, Informative, and Persuasive texts. In writing, we have been working on creating Super Sentences by adding extra detail to make our writing more exciting. We have also been focusing on developing our reading comprehension and fluency, building confidence in understanding and expressing ideas from texts.
In Numeracy, we have been developing our understanding of Number, Data, and Measurement through hands-on activities. We particularly enjoy working in pairs and small groups to deepen our learning.
During our Explore More lessons, we have been investigating Symbols in Prayer, Significant Places in Australia and our local community, and important landmarks. We have also been learning about Living Things and their unique characteristics.
In PE, we have been building our teamwork skills through soccer, focusing on dribbling and working together as a team.
It has been a wonderful start to the year, and we are excited for all the learning ahead.
