Floriade Community - mini working bee
We ended last week in a flurry of gardening as the school took on the task of planting 2080 bulbs, 2080 annuals and move 5m3 of sand into the sandpit. It was a monumental task that we achieved with the help of Mr Owen, Mr Shanahan (Miss Shanahan's Dad), Mr Kahlil (a Year 5 parent) and our incredible staff and students. It will be so rewarding to see our bulbs grow over the next few months before the rose garden explodes in a sea of flowers.

This term Defence Club has been well attended. We have had a memorial box from the Australian War Memorial and the kids enjoyed dressing up and learning about Australia in the Second World War. We decorated a canvas to celebrate our Indigenous veteran’s and also made some Nautical flags. We look forward to the next few weeks learning and celebrating everything Defence and how unique we are to be a part of it.
