Principal's Report

Parent Teacher Meetings

We hope that all parents enjoyed the opportunity to meet with their child's teacher last week following the distribution of the Interim Reports. Whilst we weren't able to gather in person, the feedback from our Community Council was that the meetings were a productive time spent between parents and teachers working towards the best educational outcomes for our students.

We thank the teachers of St Thomas More's for the additional time spent preparing for and conducting the meetings.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation was held last Saturday at our Church for 8 candidates from our school and 2 candidates from the school of religion. It was a lovely celebration with Fr Emil that was only made more special by the inclusion of other families from Year 2 who came to support the candidates and join the candidates in singing with Ariana Strmota, our School Chaplain. Ariana composed the recessional hymn that was sung by the students which made the celebration all that more special.

Thank you to all those in our parish who prepared the children for the Sacrament particularly Fr. Emil, Christopher Evans, Samantha Mance, Christine Washington, Ariana Strmota and Liarna Miller.

Preparation for Enrolment Period - updated marketing images

This week we will commence preparation for the 2023 Enrolment Period from 2 - 27 May. Tomorrow and Friday we will be updating marketing images of our students in both the school uniform and our new sports uniform. We will only take images of those students with photo permissions. Please ensure your children are in the correct uniform for the remainder of this week to ensure our images are the best reflection of our community.

COVID Update - RATs

As outlined in our COVID update via Compass last week, the ACT Government has moved the RATs distribution to an opt-in scheme. If you require RATs for your child please notify the front office.

Working Bee

We are looking forward to the Working Bee on Saturday morning. There will be a list of jobs for people to sign up against and will predominantly involve weeding, planting and distributing mulch. If you are able to bring gardening tools, wheelbarrows and/or larger items like pressure washers please do so. If you are able to attend and have not yet RSVP'd please complete the form below at your earliest convenience.
