This week is National Families Week. This week we celebrate the vital role families have in building strong connections with one another and the community.   At St Thomas More’s we are acknowledging families and the role each member plays by reading stories  about families. The children were able to borrow books about families. I hope you enjoy these treasured tales and spending valuable family time during family week reading together.

Next Wednesday is National Simultaneous story time. Schools around Australia will read the same book at the same time to celebrate literacy and a love of literature. A book written and illustrated by Australians is chosen each year. This year’s book is Family Tree by Josh Pyke.

Book Club 

Thank you to Kerrie Wells, who has kindly volunteered to coordinate bookclub this year. Expect to see brochures coming home in June. Orders are placed online and delivered to the school. Kerrie will sort and distribute purchases once they have been ordered and delivered to the school. Each order allows the school to earn money to our towards purchasing additional resources for the library at the end of each year. More information to follow next month. Thank you Kerrie.
