Principal's Report
Disco
There is only one more sleep until our School Disco which is taking place in the Hall from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. Our Year 2 parents will work with Team Kids to put on an hour of entertainment and fun. In responding to COVID measures outlined by Catholic Education we would ask parents to ensure physical distancing is maintained and that you do not remain on campus after you have dropped your child/ren. We would have loved to use this as an opportunity for a social gathering for parents but look forward to future family discos!
Arriving to the Disco: Tomorrow each family who has booked in via Qkr! will be given a ticket to bring to the disco so that the children can enter the hall in a timely manner. Families are asked to drop their children at the entry to Holy Faith Hall from 5:55pm. Children going to Team Kids will take their ticket with them.
Pick up from the Disco: To ensure the children are collected safely we will run a walk through for collection from the disco. The students will be seated in the hall in family groups and parents will enter the hall through the front foyer, collect their child/ren and exit via the kitchen area.
Why Choose STM?
We were so overwhelmed by the affirmations that we received from parents in our survey that we just had to publish them on our school website! The 'Why Choose STM?' button on the homepage is now linked to a page celebrating our successes and allowing prospective parents to hear from you. We would like to thank all of those parents who advocate for our wonderful community through your affirmations in the survey or through your conversations online. We have heard of parents in recent weeks giving rave reviews of the school over social media which makes us feel very proud indeed!
Celebrating St Thomas More's Catalyst Journey
You may recall that a group of 13 people from Catholic Education Tasmania visited last term to see the teaching and learning in our classrooms as guided by the Catalyst initiative. Following on from the visit, we have been featured in an article in Education HQ and a promotional video created by Catholic Education. We are so lucky to have such a high calibre of teachers in our school.
