What do our Parents say about St Thomas More's?

"We love St Thomas More's! It has been inclusive and has a wonderful community feel to it. Students are actively supported and encouraged to reach their potential, rather than just reach the standards. It allows my child opportunities to feel secure and to thrive both emotionally and academically. The school's OSHC program, TeamKids, is fantastic and easily accessible. STM Parent"

The school is extremely welcoming and is a happy place.

The staff are so welcoming and make sure my child is enjoying all aspects of school life.

The school has a good sense of community. Approachable teachers, principal and support team. Teachers and Principal really want to make the school a great environment for kids and families. We are really pleased with our child's experience at STM, and it has given her a great platform for her future education.

The school has a special atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome. All the teachers know my children, not just their names, they actually know and respect their individual personalities. I know because of the way the teachers talk to me about them. I think the school has created an environment where children develop the lifelong skill of learning. It's probably the most important thing you can deliver to a school in my opinion. STM sets the bar high for community and when you are a family that moves a lot, finding a place where your children feel welcome is very important. STM does that, other schools don't.

We really like the values of the school, particularly respect for others, a small inclusive community, and support and flexibility for Defence children. TeamKids is a wonderful community and provider of BASC.

St Thomas More's is an inclusive school and our experience has been that the teachers go out of their way to make sure that each student is given opportunities to learn and grow. We have recommended STM to a number of families and some have changed to STM based on our recommendation.

I value the way teachers know children across grades. I am appreciative of the communication through school newsletters, Facebook and compass. It is really easy to sort absences, permission etc through compass too.

We cannot speak highly enough of the beautiful community that makes STM what it is.  But what we want to highlight is the wonderful support the school has provided for our child, who has dysgraphia and ADHD (inattentive-type).  Our child's kinder teacher was so observant that she identified a slight learning lag during that first, formative year of school.  Because of her keen observation and proactivity, we have been able to follow a long and complicated journey over a few years to a formal diagnosis.  Along the way, our child has been supported beautifully and attentively by each of the teachers.  They have all worked together with us as a team to support our child's learning and to gather the evidence we required for the paediatrician.  We are confident that with the support provided by STM, our child has as much of a chance to excel in the future as any of the other children who do not have to overcome a learning disability. We could not be more grateful that we chose STM for our child and can recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely and community focussed environment for their child.
